NYC Regional Conference

To capitalize on the momentum from the March for Justice, we are planning 6 regional conferences which will take place throughout 2018 and 2019. The first conference will be April 13th -14th in NYC, at the Unitarian Church of All Souls located at 1157 Lexington Avenue, corner of E. 80th Street. We will deepen our relationships with organizers in the different regions of New York State, and the conferences will serve as opportunities for us to shape our collective vision and the specific actions we will take. Please  mark  your  calendars,  and  we  will  provide  regular  updates  with  details!

March for Justice Reunion

On Sunday, March 25, we are so excited to host a March for Justice reunion at the Brooklyn Museum, as part of the Sackler Center's States of Denial series! States of Denial was the very first public forum that AFJ participated in when we were only a few months old. It is fitting that we will return there to celebrate the March for Justice, discuss the progress we have made since then, and our plans for the future. Everyone is invited to attend, whether you participated in the march or not! Wear your AFJ/March for Justice hats and t-shirts if you have them!

Caucus Weekend

Join us in Albany for Caucus weekend in Albany on February 17!

Every year, the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian
Legislative Caucus hosts a caucus weekend where advocates come to speak to elected officials and lead workshops on the social justice issues they are working for. This year, on February 17, AFJ is joining them!

We will be focused on bringing statewide attention to how mass incarceration negatively impacts families and communities, with particular emphasis on ensuring that the restrictive package policy is completely eliminated, not just suspended.

Our FREE bus will depart from 8 W. 126th St. at 5:30 am, on Saturday, February 17, 2018. We will depart Albany by 5:00 pm.
